Reply with quote | #1 | So relieved! I saw SO today and she said DD's solo song was changed (by her). I'm really glad I didn't say anything.
The song is still classic, musical theater style tap but a more fun and upbeat song.
I think it suits DD perfectly and now we're both thrilled. |

I knew I could trust in my SO. And I'm so glad not to have to have been "complainer mom". |

Reply with quote | #10 | "Ain't We Got Fun", which is perfect for DD. She loves the retro, classic tap songs. Plus it was in the Kit Kittredge movie so she knows it.
Can't wait to see the costume! |

Reply with quote | #12 | Fun song. I am glad it worked out. I am wondering though what changed her mind...just the curious cat in me. __________________ "Inside every older person is a younger person wondering, 'what the heck happened?" |

Reply with quote | #14 | Dance teacher lurking here... I hope you don't mind me butting in, but I just wanted to say that I can usually tell when a kid doesn't like a song, or just isn't connecting to it. As much as I love to choreograph to music I like, the kids need to like their dances or they won't look good. She may have just noticed your DD didn't like it, or that it didn't look as good as she thought, and decided to change. |

Reply with quote | #15 | balletstr, you are not "butting in" and I'm glad to get your opinion.
DD had not started on the rehearsals yet due to SO being sick. Sometimes she changes the song, who knows why, we're just happy she did! |
